Bridesmaids’ dresses?
Bridesmaids’ dresses?
I’m getting married in October this year. The only problem I am having is choosing a color for their dresses (we are using David’s Bridal). My dress is this color (looks pretty much like this without the straps).

Two of the bridesmaids are very fair skinned, one is dark olive, the other lighter olive tone but will probably still have a good tan. I’m undecided, my maid of honor and mother like totally different colors, and I just am not sure what to do. Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
Oh, believe me, I’m not going to let anyone else choose my colors. I just respect their opinions, and wanted their input. Unfortunately, their opinions are very different, LOL (my MOH loves the pink idea. I was going more for fall colors but I ended up getting this dress so now I have to work around it lol)
I haven’t done flowers yet b/c I want to get the bridesmaids’ dresses in order.

That dress would look great with a deep creme, or a pale deep pink. These two colors look great with all skin colors.
thats tricky my best bet would be to choose a color that you like for your maid of honor and mother that way they cant fight about it they just have to deal with it remember it is your wedding, by the way your dresses are very pretty, also for my friends wedding she had the moms wear a color that went well with the bridesmaid dresses so if that helps any good luck!
you can never go wrong with light colors like lavender or green but it all really depends on the flowers you choose.
What about the color navy? Would make a very polished and classy look to go with your gown. The color navy looks good on most people. Good luck.
If you are getting married in October I would go with a fall color for your dresses (i.e., darker reds, oranges, blues, purples). It doesn’t matter what your mother or your maid of honor want. It is your special day so you need to do whatever is going to make you happiest.
What about a green color? It would compliment your dress because it looks like it is an ivory color.
Go with the one your maid of honor wants because she is the one who has to wear it.
This would be pretty with your dress and will look good on olive tone and pale skin.

It’s also a unique color with is why I like it. Make sure you go with what YOU like. I let my girls pick out their dresses and the color and I hate them!!!
well first of all i think you just help me find my ideal wedding dress, but most important i think you should go with a light colored dress for the bridesmaids and a darker for your made of of honor and your mother, but not to dark just a little more then the others, that way they can stand out a little more, BUT NOT MORE THEN YOU and i think it will look perfect. good luck and i pray you have a happy life, have fun.
Very beautiful dress I must say! Since it’s in the fall, you might want to try a warm tone. How about a warm goldish color, but not too flashy or sparkly. Here’s a link:

It’s also from David’s Bridal!
Enjoy!
ok first off take a deep breath in and then let it out, after that just pick what you want its your wedding day and you should have fun not worried on some dresses. forget it that both your maid of honor and mother have different ideas on dresses just tell them plain and simple wich one you like or go pick one out your self. and have a happy marridge and i would also pick the one you maid of honor picked because she has to wear it
For a fall wedding I like browns or deep red, burnt orange. Colors like that. It’s your wedding though so just pick a color that you want to center your wedding around.
My friend had an October wedding and each bridesmaid wore the same dress – but in different colors: Navy, Forest Green, Deep rusty red, etc. The groomsmen wore ties and cummerbunds to match the bridesmaid they were accompanying up the aisle.
(Also, instead of fresh flowers, the girls carried small hurricane lamps surrounded by a wreath of dried fall flowers. — Not my style – but it was very pretty.)
Another option is for you to just decide on the color that you want. It is your wedding. Sometimes you’ve just gotta say “Because I’m the Bride!”
Best wishes to you and your groom! I’m celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary in May!
my sister in law had a wedding in October, and also wanted fall colors, some of the colors that looked great on everyone (her dresses came from david’s) were, apple, berry, slate blue, calypso, mocha (the lady said this had been one of the most picked colors) as well as chocolate and light brown, she wound up going with the apple, and since we live in Ga, we had very nice weather for an outside wedding, it was absolutely beautiful, with the leaves changing color and the red dresses, your best bet is just to try and get all the bridesmaids together and go shopping for the dresses together, this way you can see what colors look best on everyone, as well as style of dresses. Good Luck!
The color of their dresses should match the flowers and other colors that you’ve picked for the wedding. If you picked say red and yellow then their dresses should be red or yellow. And that should settle that. Also, the MOB doesn’t have to match the wedding party, she just needs to find a dress that she likes and feels comfortable in.
How about a lovely chocolate brown? I like this dress in “truffle” http://davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_detail.jsp?stid=2817&prodgroup=110
One mother could go in a brown and another in beige. I think those would be lovely with your dress & a fall wedding. You could put the guys in brown tuxes with cream vests & ties. Flowers could be eiher pink (pretty with brown) or into fall colors like orages & rusts
Most definitely, choose fall colors for your bridesmaid dresses. Pink would stick out like a sore thumb….not to mention that you said they have an olive tone..that wouldn’t look good. I am having a Fall wedding also, and the colors that are ‘fall’ like are Wine, Olivine, Pumpkin Orange, etc…
Here are some dresses in those colors:

I think burnt orange would be beautiful
Beautiful dress – but have it WITH STRAPS!!!
Do you want fall colours? Burnt orange is hot, also sage green is very popular. Both would be fun to match with other things and accent, and decorate with. And choose flowers for. You don’t have to worry about their skin colour unless you choose yellow.
Pale and olive… olive… Right…
I would recommend a bronze-brown. Not metallically, mind. Something that almost shimmers with an emphasis on an orange-chocolate colour. Mix the brown with a chocolate-purple. The chocolate will keep the purple from making your pale girls even paler, and the purple will accent olive tones nicely.
They may be hard to FIND at a DB, but see what your options are. And see how pieces mix. A purple bottom with a brown top might not look bad, and do the same thing (if the fabrics are right).
Your dress is just gorgeous !
I agree with most of what has been said already. I love the dark purple color, the gold color and the brown colors.I also like the navy.So few people use it and that color works on everyone.
Please stay away from pastels at this time of year and do not make your friends wear orange .
Congrats and good luck
how about beige – mocha – browns?
