Have you tried the David’s $ 99 sale? Many times brides have to have their gowns altered to fit properly. So can you find a $ 99 gown, and have it altered to accommodate your baby bump?

There must be talented seamstresses in your area. Can one of them make your gown? Or alter a gown to fit you?

Have you considered buying a white or ivory bridesmaid’s gown? Bridesmaids’ dresses are usually much less expensive than bridal gowns. You can add a veil and still look bridal.

Do you have a friend or relative who will allow you to borrow a gown? Have you tried local thrift shops and consignment stores?

If you are unable to locate a maternity gown in your price range, why not try a regular knee-length maternity dress or suit in white or ivory? Adding a short veil and a small bouquet will help you look more “bridal.”

Edit: Every bridal shop has seamstresses, or can recommend a seamstress. Every fabric store I have ever been in had a list of seamstresses they could recommend. Almost every dry cleaners has someone who can do alterations. So unless you live way out in the boonies all by yourself . . . there will be a seamstress somewhere nearby. You may have a search a bit, but you can find a seamstress.

You say you won’t get married after your child is born because “it isn’t right to her,” but how right is it to her that you didn’t think about that BEFORE you had sex before marriage? Do you really think, years from now, that your daughter isn’t going to realize that, hey, her birthday is just a few weeks after your wedding anniversary? Or are you just going to teach her how to do math incorrectly so she’ll never realize it?

Sorry, but the jig is up. Everyone knows you screwed around before you were married, so what does it matter if you give birth before you get married too. It’s not going to affect your baby either way.

Also, you can’t afford a decent wedding dress (your own dad has to buy it, AND you have to ask permission on where to buy it from), how the heck are you going to afford to raise a child? Honestly, you say “this is your only chance,” and you are exactly right. You had one chance, and you blew it. Wear a white mumu, because it really doesn’t matter at this point. You screw, you pay for it. Should have listened in sex ed. Condoms and birth control, ever heard of it? No, well how about ABSTINENCE?

Whatever you need to tell yourself to make you feel better about this crappy situation you’ve put yourself, your future husband, your baby, and your entire family is fine. I’m totally sure that the bible was trying to convey that “they, if you’re promiscuous, God will love you MORE!” Sorry, but you’re a hypocrite. You say it isn’t right by your baby to not be married before you give birth, but sorry hon, this isn’t about a DRESS. You should have thought about what was right by your BABY (which is more important that a dress, in case you didn’t notice) before you got pregnant. If it was so important to you to be married before giving birth, then you should have gotten married before even doing the dirty deed. I bet you also think God also likes it when you have a blatant disregard for something as important as your future child?

You thought about the DRESS before getting pregnant, but not about the actual getting married part, which you say yourself is the “right” thing to do. How much sense does that make?

LOL. You are 17. Figures. I’m glad that before you and your boyfriend had sex, you thought about the dress, but not about getting married beforehand or about how you’re actually going to realistically raise your child considering you can’t even afford a $ 100 wedding dress.

EDIT- SERIOUSLY, you should have thought about all of this before getting pregnant. You are NOT going to find a fancy, quality maternity wedding dress for $ 99. Either lower your standards, or raise your price. Time to wake up sweetie.

EDIT- I know I would not act like a selfish twit when asking for help. I really do not care that you got pregnant before you got married (obviously not the most ideal situation…but at least you are taking accountability)….don’t give me the Bible speak, with your hateful and selfish attitude you are obviously not a true Christan so don’t pretend to be.

You have a lot of learning to do about being an adult before you bring this little one into this world. Please do it fast, for the sake of your child and your marriage.

I would do one of two things: (1) find a nice maternity dress that you can afford, regardless of whether or not it’s a “wedding” dress, or (2) turn the world upside down looking for white dresses that might be suitable and can be altered, be they bridal dresses or no, and have it altered by a seamstress. If you get lucky, you might find something that with alterations would come to $ 100. But I think you stand a better chance with finding yourself a nice dress. Heck you could put yourself into LABOR stressing over dress option 2! And that’s not good.

It’s more important that you be dressed respectfully and feel beautiful on your wedding day than that you be wearing white. Really.
