Did Kim Richards support her family, as a child actress, or NOT? (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills)?
In her confessional, on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she stated that she bought their first house and that she bought Kyle her first car, etc. The next thing you know, Kyle jumps in and says that that’s not entirely accurate. Kyle went on to say that their father was very successful and took care of them.
Their stories are almost polar! So, who’s telling the truth?

There’s no way to know for sure but I suspect Kim did support the family, at least to some degree. No one ever mentions what their father did. Kyle goes on to say “WE were child actors,” but, although I know Kyle had a few roles here and there, I never saw her in anything. Her sister, on the other hand, was a pretty big child star. As a matter of fact, I originally started watching RHOBH because I remembered Kim from all those old Disney films I saw as a kid. If Kyle won’t or can’t distinguish her sister’s significant childhood acting career from her own very minor one, chances are she is not being honest about everything. That is just my opinion.
Edit: With all the brouhaha surrounding the RHoBH reunion and the relationship between Kim and Kyle, I have become more curious about the answer to this question, as well as the sisters’ childhoods. As I’m sure you know, Kim and Kyle’s half sister is Kathy Hilton, wife of Rick Hilton, mother of Paris and Nicole.
I have just begun to dig around a bit to find information about the Richards’ girls childhoods and although there is little public information to salvage, the information available on sister Kathy Hilton (aka “Little Kathy,” as their mother was called “Big Kathy”) seems to be more plentiful. I found the following article about a book, ‘House of Hilton’ by Jerry Oppenheimer, which alludes to some unsavory child rearing practices utilized by the girls’ mother. Apparently, she groomed Little Kathy to marry a wealthy man, having married 5 times herself, once to a man with ties to organized crime and once to a man (Ken Richards, Kyle and Kim’s father) who was already married when he impregnated Big Kathy with Kim. According to this book, “Several of her former spouses ended up dying in poverty, including Richards and Laurence Avanzino (father of Little Kathy) of whom she did not see past a very young age.” This book also states that, yes, Kim Richards DID support her family as a child actress… Apparently, Big Kathy pushed all her daughters to work as child actresses; I guess that is what kept the family afloat financially… If her spouses died in poverty, I doubt they would have had the child support money to give to Big Kathy.
I have heard of no lawsuits filed by the Hilton clan against the author of this book, so I assume the information contained in it is correct.
In light of this new information, I am 100% sure that Kim supported her family throughout her childhood. This article gives more information than I listed here – very interesting! I suggest you visit it too.

Yes Kim working as an actress bought in the most money for the household.
Based on viewing every episode, including the reunion, and watching Kim on TV and in the movies throughout my childhood, I would say YES. Though I was originally a Kyle fan in the beginning, I dislike and distrust her the most of all the housewives.
She can’t control her temper or conceal her disdain with her sister (ever) or her husband’s client (Camille). Then she says she worked as a child (implying that she also helped to support he family) but her “career” was a fraction of the size of Kim’s so that doesn’t make sense. It appeared that her own insecurity makes her incapable of recognizing just how big a star Kim was and the ultimate sacrifices she had to make for her family.
I dont know but im assuming KIM contributed the most based on the fact I remember KIMS face and not kyle from movies. Im going to google just to be sure and see HOW MUCH kim was in and how much kyle was. Its usually the younger one though that cant remember things correctly . And like the other poster said , kyle seems fake to me , i dont trust her so i would take kims word over hers.
