Does anyone have any interesting/unique ideas for decorating a wedding or reception with paper?
This may sound crazy, but I love a challenge. I’m considering making the bulk of my decorations (for a smaller wedding, thankfully) out of paper. I have found a few different kinds of paper flowers that are really pretty and I am considering making 1000 paper cranes as well. Any other ideas? Thanks for your input!

You can also make animals and hearts, even cups that really hold water.
“‘Paper Curtains” with lace .Lace can be cut out like snow flakes… Instead of throwing flowers throw paper confetti.

Actually, there’s a magazine called Paper Crafts that did a special wedding issue full of paper decorations with all sorts of wedding themes and stuff. You can probably still get a copy of it at http://www.papercraftsmag.com.
Go to the martha stewart weddings website and there are some ideas for decorating with paper (the tissue paper used for gift wrapping). I liked the square vases with the tissue paper wrapped around it with a candle inside. You can make them any color and the glow is so pretty!
paper “lace dollies” they come in colors and gold and silver, paper bells different sizes, maybe cascading downward, paper bows, this is a great idea!! Lots of things to do with paper. And don’t forget that old standby crepe paper streamers!Lots of luck and joy for you!!
you could make a ton of beautiful flowers made out of vellum. punch holes in the center and poke christmas lights through each one. string several strands with vellum flowers and you will have a beautiful and unique decoration! hope this helps!! your wedding will be fantastic!!
I love your idea!! For some of our wedding decorations and stationery, I used Japanese washi paper. What kind of colors or patterns are you using?
Given the delicate appearance of paper crafts, I would suggest using a very limited palette of colors, or several shades of the same color– to really make the room pop!
If you havent already, check some books on Japanese paper crafts– there is so much more than just the standard origami–
Your idea sounds fun! Good luck!
