Does it matter which way a woman wears her engagement and wedding rings?
Does it matter which way a woman wears her engagement and wedding rings?
The reason why I’m asking here is because one of the girls where I volunteered just came back from getting married and her honeymoon. Was wearing the her rings the opposite of how my mom wears and told me. She told me that another girl told her that if you wear the wedding ring closer to you, not sure what the reason.
Thank you in advance for helping me with me.

The order of the rings is up to you, but often, the wedding band is put on the finger first, and then the engagement ring. The practical reason for the wedding band on first is that the engagement ring (usually in a more elaborate setting) might be taken off for messy chores, without disturbing the band. The symbolic reason for wedding ring on first is that it’s closer to one’s heart.
Even though it doesn’t represent the order in which you received them… the wedding ring traditionally goes on the inside, closer to you, because that way it is closer to your heart… awww…
You wear the wedding band first and then the engagement ring over it. If ou are taking the rings off, the engagement ring comes off first, and then the wedding band. Hope that helps.
You wear the wedding band closest to your heart.
the wedding band should be closest to your heart.
wear your wedding ring on the inside, closest to your heart. engagement ring goes on the outside, closest to your wallet.
In America the wedding ring would be put on first and the engagement ring next being closer to the tips of your fingers. In Europe I believe it is the opposite. This is customarily the way it is done but you can of course do whatever is best for you.
The wedding ring is supposed to be the closest to your heart…
I was just always told to (and wear mine this way) that the wedding band goes on the finger first and then the engagement ring.
in most cultures you wear the wedding band closest to the inside of your hand then the engagement ring, but I know other cultures are different.
Yes. The wedding band goes on your finger first, with the engagement ring on overtop, to protect it.
