Does my wedding ring have to be a diamond?
Does my wedding ring have to be a diamond?
i would hate to wear those matching bands..
my mum says that a wedding ring should be a diamond ring.
i wanted a sapphire with diamond borders on the ring…
but my mum says that would be more appropriate as an engagement ring but not as my wedding ring. ??? does it really matter that much, i know it doesn’t.
But mostly ‘should’ a wedding ring be a diamond ring?

Nah, in fact it could be plastic!
My engagement ring also serves as my wedding ring. You should do what you need to for your own happiness.
No, it’s your ring! You should pick out whatever you want on it.
you can get anything you want. its YOUR ring. no one elses
I think a wedding ring should be whatever you love and want to wear everyday. or it should be something your groom picked out all by himself, b/c that makes it super special!!
Your mum is old school. There is no rule written in blood that a wedding ring has to be a diamond.
Most people I know just have a plain wedding band ie no stones. But you can have whatever you want! There really aren’t any rules.
No it doesn’t. This is for YOU and don’t lt anyone talk you out of what you want to do. I know several people who have non-diamond wedding rings. GO FOR IT!
sapphires, ruby’s, emeralds, topaz, aquamarine, and even tourmaline makes beautiful rings. why not mix it up a bit? While a strong tradition there is nothing wrong with stepping outside the box, personally I think diamond rings are somewhat boring and traditional. pick out a stone you WANT to wear to express your love
I’ve always wondered about an obsidian ring myself
Well it’s YOUR wedding, you should be able to get whatever rings you want! P!ss your mum off by getting one of those 25 cent plastic rings from those machines.
I think you should go with your ring because its going to be the most important day of YOUR life.
Good Luck.
The engagement ring is the one with the diamond and the wedding band usualy doesnt have any stones
It’s just a tradition. You should go with the gemstone you like the most. The metaphysical properties of the sapphire are truth, sincerity, and faithfulness. I think that would be very appropriate for a wedding ring.
Hello,
Its your wedding and you should get whatever ring you like. If you do not go with your idea of the “perfect ring” you will regret it. You will have the ring on your hand just about every single day for the rest of life so it must be exactly what you want. Congratulations on getting married and I wish you and your family all the best.
I hope this helps
