Dry cleaning a wedding dress?

I just got married this saturday, and I need to have my wedding dress dry-cleaned. It doesn’t have any weird stains on it, like wine or food or any bodily fluids–just dirt and stuff on the hem and where someone stepped on it. Does anyone know how much it is to have it cleaned? Preferably people who have had to have it done before?

Please, no point-gaming “I don’t know” answers.

If the dress is very intricate (with beading and decorations) it will cost a little more than a normal dress costs to get dry cleaned.

Check out dry cleaning in your area and see how much it costs to get a wedding gown cleaned. It can sometimes range from $ 75 to $ 150 or more! It depends on what fabric, size, how you want it cleaned, if you want it pressed.

Mine cost about $ 100. It was stained about the same as you said yours was and I had a little make-up and mascara. We did not have mine preserved, just cleaned.

Congratulations on your marriage. I love to see people get married!!! GO GIRL!!!

  2. nothing with styrene plastic beads can be dry cleaned. Sequins also cannot be dry cleaned. There are specialty cleaners that advertise in bridal magazines . I would go with that option and not the locals. You want to keep the heat off of it.

You will want to find a reputable cleaner, preferably one that specializes in cleaning wedding gowns. It’s been too long since I had mine done-I don’t know how much it costs. But I would expect to pay at least $ 100. Congrats and best wishes!

  4. AROUND 100.00 AND HAVE THEM PACKAGE IT IN BLUE PAPER TO KEEP IT FROM TURING YELLOW AND YOU’LL ALSO GET IT IN A BIG BOX. GOOD LUCK.

  5. I had mine done by Imperial Gown … the same company that works on dresses for the Smithsonian and has been featured on Oprah. They have a guarantee and it is not voided if you open the box, like most others.

My gown was a couture gown, so I really wanted it to be preserved as well as it could be. It ran about $ 300, but I consider it money well spent. Every so often I do open the box to look at my beautiful dress.

The Imperial Gown company’s website is gown.com. If you want to be sure that your gown is perfectly preserved, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

    Good luck and congratulations!

  6. Check with bridal shops near you know one in Texas called David’s Bridal has where you send the dress in and they will dry clean and package it for you in sealed package so no moisture can ever get in and they will even store it for you or send it back to you.
