How can you tell if a ring is a wedding ring?

Its not as ovious as it sounds, I don’t mean as in what finger the rings on. I mean the actual ring, I’m in love with a ring, but on the internet website, it says its a wedding ring, its not the classic shape its very unique, so how can we tell if it was made to be a wedding ring?
