How to wear a prom dress like this?

So my prom dress is like this:

(about the third one down, short and pink with a black sash)
…except it doesn’t have a sash, is maybe a little longer, and is a deep blue colour.
I’m at a loss as to how to do my hair, make up what shoes to have etc, because I kind of want it 50′s syle, since that’s what the style of the dress is.
However a lot of the curly 50′s hair styles do not suit me at all, so would straight and flippy at the ends do? And I love the red lipstick classic look, but would the red look strange with deep blue?
P.S. I’m medium/tall height, blonde hair almost to my shoulder, kind of scrawny build. And can’t walk in super-high heels

yes, the hairstyle you suggested would look cute. Red classic lipstick depends on your coloring but it sounds like that would work as well.
I love simple wavy/curly hair, but maybe the curly 50′s hair but up?
Or you could have it up in some kind of bun or clip it back with part of it hanging down? D:
I’d wear a necklace, earrings & bracelet with it.
I think the red lipstick might look a bit odd, depending on your colouring.
& small blue heels.
Hair- I think you could curl your hair but not have it in a 50s style
Shoes- Either a blue like your dress or maybe silver
Makeup- In my opinion I think the classic red would look good but not too heavy
