I have a royal blue princess style wedding dress, what colour should the bridesmaide dresses be?

My two bridesmaides have very different body shapes, 1 is slim but very booby. 2 is larger and bottom heavy.

Do you know what shape/style dress might suite them both?

Or a colour, I think Navy would look good, with maybe a sapphire blue sash……but open to any ideas.

The wedding is Peacock, Sapphire themed.

Thankyou

  1. I would say a different color to make them stand out from you. Perhaps a royal purple or emerald green to fit the peacock theme? :) Sounds like a great theme, by the way!

And as for style; maybe mermaid style?

  2. green

  3. I think the navy would be too similar to your royal blue – I would pick lighter shades or shades of blue tinted with other colours like aquamarine, turquoise, indigo, capri or cerulean.

I think the shape should be a fitted halter neck with a “love-shaped” neckline with fitted bodice. If the second bridesmaid is a bit bigger on her bottom half then that part of the dress needs to be free flowing as not to draw attention to what might make her uncomfortable and halter love-shaped necklines are good for busty girls

  4. I suggest trying long empire style gowns in a peacock feather iridescent bronzy goldish brown, low cut and sleeveless with built in bras. Use iridescent beading on the bodices in peacock feather colors, such as greens, golds and deep sapphire. Use crystals and peacock feathers in their bouquets and in the room decorations.

  5. maybe choose something in a patterned fabric that features the color of your dress in it.
they could each have a different style that suited them.
even look at purchasing fabric & having the dresses custom made.

I would have them try on dresses in navy and purple

  7. you should make them wear emarald green it would look really good with the theme that you picked out.

  8. I think dark blue would look lovely too in a long style. You can buy the dress in different styles for different body shapes.

  9. you can choose purple , whiter or red bridesmaide dresses.

  10. Just wanted to say that I recently went to a wedding with a peacock theme and it was rather lovely! I love the idea of the navy blue dresses with a saphire blue sash, sounds beautiful to me! But I just wanted to point out that maybe the bridesmaids could wear different style dresses with the same sash and length of dress. Maybe the two dresses can be the fabric as well… but just different. No two bodies are ever alike so I am not surprised that you have run into this problem. I would say to tell your maids the general idea you have for their dress and let them do the rest! For afterall, no one will know their bodies better than themselves. Good luck and have fun planning!
