   go to MICHEAL’S craft shop if you have one they have every thing you need

   it depends on the look you want, if you want frilly then go for the icing, use a decorators bag and a star tip, if you want a smooth look go for the fondant, I will say this though fondant is more difficult to work with than icing so if you do not have experience working with fondant than I would defiantly recommend going with the icing. you can go with a lot of different decorations once you get it iced, you can sprinkle it with sugar to make it sparkle (either the colored kind or for a white cake use plain white sugar) you can make flowers, they have those silver balls, there are a lot of them that you can buy also. Just have fun with it and it will come out fine.

   Here’s the thing ladies, Fondant is beautiful but honestly I haven’t ever eaten a fondant the I liked as much as a butter cream or cream cheese frosting fondant can also be difficult to work with if you haven’t ever used it before. I would liken it to decorating a cake with pie crust dough as far as consistency. If the fondant tears while you are decorating the cake it is hard to repair. With your experience level I would recommend Icing of some sort. If you do Ice it the best tip I have is to initially ice the cake with what they call a crumb coat. It means that you put a thin layer of the Icing on the cake and let it set in the fridge prior to your final icing. This prevents the crumbs that come off the cake when icing it, from coming off in your final icing coat. Michael’s does have lots of cake decorating stuff but it’s definitely cheaper to go somewhere else like wal mart or somewhere for most of your stuff
